Meet the Founder

For more than two decades, I built a career at the intersection of global policy, workforce development, labor rights, human rights, and international development. I had the privilege of working alongside governments, organizations, and communities around the world to address complex challenges and create opportunities for meaningful change.

Yet like many professionals, I eventually found myself at a crossroads.

As global systems shifted and long-standing assumptions about work, leadership, and impact began to change, I was called to pause and reflect on my own path. I began asking questions that many of my clients now face: What's next? How do I evolve without losing myself? How do I navigate uncertainty with intention, purpose, and integrity?

What emerged was a deeper understanding of something I had witnessed throughout my career: growth and transformation are rarely linear. Whether in organizations, communities, or our own lives, meaningful change often begins in moments of uncertainty.

Through personal loss, professional transitions, international experience, and years of leading complex initiatives, I developed an ability to see patterns, identify opportunities, and help others navigate change with clarity and confidence. I learned that transformation requires both strategy and self-awareness, both vision and action.

Blue Lotus Global was born from that intersection.

With over two decades of work experience and expertise in international development, workforce and youth development, leadership advisory, and career and transformational coaching, Sarah Sunderlin Simpson founded Blue Lotus Global to bridge strategy and purpose.

She has led global teams and partnered with governments, businesses, coalitions, and mission driven organizations across Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific. Today, she blends years of team building, project management and policy experience with intuitive guidance to help individuals and institutions grow with clarity, alignment, and impact.

Holding a Master’s in Global Policy and certifications in coaching and holistic practices, Sarah empowers clients to navigate change with clarity, integrity, and creativity.

Drawing on more than two decades of leadership experience and over 25 years of mindfulness and personal development practice, Sarah understands that sustainable success requires more than achievement alone. It requires alignment between who we are, how we lead, and the impact we want to create.

Sarah's coaching style is thoughtful, grounded, and transformational—helping clients navigate change, unlock new possibilities, and create careers and lives that reflect their values, strengths, and aspirations.

With a Master of Arts in Global Policy from Johns Hopkins SAIS and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology, Sarah combines policy expertise with deep cultural understanding and a human-centered approach. She is recognized for her ability to identify patterns, navigate complexity, build partnerships, and translate vision into practical strategies.

Organizational Strategy & Consulting

With more than two decades of experience across global policy, international development, workforce systems, and human rights, Sarah brings a unique combination of strategic expertise, cross-cultural fluency, and systems-level thinking to every consulting engagement.

As a senior international development and policy leader, Sarah has designed and managed complex global initiatives, advised stakeholders across sectors, and partnered with governments, civil society organizations, UN agencies, and private sector leaders to advance solutions to some of the world's most pressing challenges.

Her work has spanned labor rights, ethical supply chains, workforce and youth development, skills training, institutional capacity building, and inclusive economic opportunity across Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia-Pacific, and the Middle East and North Africa.

Sarah’s experience includes:

  • Designing strategic initiatives and managing multi-million-dollar global programs addressing child labor, forced labor, human trafficking, and labor rights.

  • Developing workforce and skills development strategies that expand opportunity for youth and underserved communities.

  • Creating policies, frameworks, and systems that strengthen institutional effectiveness and address complex social challenges.

  • Advancing ethical labor practices, supply chain responsibility, and tools that support greater accountability and transparency.

  • Representing U.S. government agencies in international forums and collaborating with global partners to advance shared priorities.

  • Facilitating conversations and mentoring emerging leaders focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, and socially responsible solutions.
